Group W Toolset 6.0
Group W Toolset Release 6.0
Changes Since Previous Release
This document describes changes released in Group W Toolset 6.0, released on
2020-07-04. The previous version was 5.1, released on 2014-01-17.
Older versions of this document are kept in elements with name of the form
READ-THIS/xDOTy, where 'x' and 'y' represent the whole and fractional parts of
the release level. Example: Element READ-THIS/4DOT0 contains the READ-THIS
document that was distributed in Group W Toolset release 4.0.
Group W Toolset documentation is in HTML format. In file #1 of the release
are three elements that you should download to the same directory your PC or
Web site:
- Download GWTS/HTM to GWTS.HTM
- Download GWTSDOC/HTM to GWTSDOC.HTM
- Download GWTSTOC/HTM to GWTSTOC.HTM
GWTS.HTM defines a frameset that uses the other two documents. If your
browser does not support frames (or you hate them), then point it to
GWTSDOC.HTM.
Summary of Changes
Correct Bugs
- @COPYG 1R2 increases the size of the COPYG$UTIL file.
- @DISK 3R1 fixes a bug whereby UP pack that has been RP'd causes error
trying to *EDIT_NUMBER a non-numeric.
- @DISKPL 2R2 supports disk drive sizes up to 9,999,999 tracks (was
999,999 tracks).
- @MCTPL 1R4B increases Date/Time table size by 36 words to make it
large enough for Exec 49R1 with room for future growth.
- @T 4R1 fixes two bugs:
- Account field did not allow minus sign.
- Program name field did not allow dollar sign or minus sign.
- @TOUCH 2R1 fixes a bug whereby 'S' (sort) option did not include
version name.
New Features in Old Programs
- @CYC 3R1 uses SCREENSIZE SGSs and SCREEN-SIZE *COPY proc to control
line count for non-breakpointed demand runs.
- @DIFF 1R2 adds "End diff" line that shows user IP consumption.
- @DISK 3R1 uses SCREENSIZE/SGS and SCREEN-SIZE *COPY proc to control
line count for non-breakpointed demand runs.
- FAS-FIX/10R6 is local code for FAS 10R6 LIST (from MFD) command.
- FAS-FIX/11R1 is local code for FAS 11R1 LIST (from MFD) command.
- FAS-FIX/12R1 is local code for FAS 12R1 LIST (from MFD) command.
- @MFDPL is re-compiled with new MFDDEF so that it collects SYSLIB
relocatables, which can handle timestamps that are in TDATE$ or
Modified-SWTIME format. No change to MFDPL release level.
- @PASOFF 1R4 replaces ER TDATE$ with ER MODSWTIME$ and changes map to
start DBANK at 0120000 for MCB 9R1.
- @PIDSTA changes map to start DBANK at 0120000 for MCB 9R1. No
change to source code or release level.
- @SHA1PL 1R3 adds 'N' option to suppress the SHA1 computation (which can
consume much IP). Record and byte counts are still computed.
- SHOW-ID-LINE (no version) is changed to show time if available.
- @SPY 3R1 handles new log type number (205) and other entry changes for
Exec 49.
- @SYS 1R5 has two new features:
- Show what Jump Keys are currently set.
- When searching optional EXEC SGSs for MCT Exec ID, search in
descending order. This will find the most recent boot tape if
Exec ID occurs multiple times in EXEC SGSs.
- @T 4R1 has several new features:
- Add feature so minus sign (-) can be used as a single-character
wildcard on original run-id.
- Show IP consumption in seconds with one decimal place (was
minutes).
- Use SCREENSIZE/SGS and SCREEN-SIZE *COPY proc to control line count
for non-breakpointed demand runs.
- If processor call was in @ADD runstream, do not ask user to transit
for more detail.
- Ask user to transmit for more help only if run is non-breakpointed
demand and @T was not invoked in @ADD.
- @TOCOMP 2R1 uses SCREENSIZE SGSs and SCREEN-SIZE *COPY proc to control
line count for non-breakpointed demand runs.
- @TOUCH 2R1 changes option letters in a way that is incompatible
with previous releases:
- Option for copy proc inclusion feature is now C (was P).
- P option is now used to invoke new feature to @PACK the file after
touching the elements.
- @Z 4R1 uses SCREENSIZE/SGS and SCREEN-SIZE *COPY proc to control line
count for non-breakpointed demand runs.
New Programs
- @COMERR 1R1 is new generic processor that displays English
interpretation of COMAPI errors.
- @QCNT 1R1 is new MASM processor that pipes total number of symbiont
entries on the system.

Modified SWTIME timestamp.
